With over one million lights sparkling across, Aurora Winter Festival kicked off November 22 and there is so much to see and do between now and January 5.
You can venture into one of the site’s four mystical worlds, take a spin on the rides or visit the North Pole – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
We got a sneak peek at what this winter wonderland has in store. Here’s what you can look forward to at the Vancouver Aurora Winter Festival:
Mystical Worlds and Characters
Explore each of the mystical worlds and meet the Ice Elves, Ice Queen and Yin the Yeti along the way. These characters love to share their world with others, so feel free to say hi.
You can find them in the Polar Passage, Luminous Gardens, Whimsical Forest or the Land of Giants.
Rides, Slides and Games
There’s a handful of rides to give young ones a whirl, including the Berry Go Round, the Choo-Choo Charlie, the Bulgies and the Ferris Wheel among others.
If you’re looking for something more extreme, climb to the top of the 200-foot tube slide and enjoy the exhilarating ride back down.
Skating Pond
Strap on some blades and take a spin around the Tim Hortons Skating Pond.
Enjoy the beautiful light installations and get into the spirit with holiday music playing in the background.
The rink is free, but if you don’t own skates, you can rent a pair for $6.
The North Pole
When you reach the North Pole, listen out for some magical storytelling by Santa Claus and his elves. You can listen in and perhaps meet him yourself.
While you’re there, check out the Candy Cane Lane, where you’ll see the Gingerbread Hut, Candy Shack, and giant candy installations.
Food & Market
Peruse through the Holiday Market for gifts and stay warm with a hot drink and a meal at the Food Gardens.
With a plethora of food trucks on site, there’s a little something safe for everyone. In case you’re wondering, mini donuts are available at two separate locations throughout the Aurora Winter Festival.
Entertainment Tent
When you’re looking to warm-up, catch some live music (or both), head inside the massive heated tent for drinks and live performances every evening.
