Hikes Leading To Swimming Spots

Elfin Lakes

 

Find this gem in Howe Sound for an intermediate 6-hour round trip hike. The 22 KM trek has an elevation gain of 600-meters but is the perfect way to soak up the great outdoors. Just an hour-and-a-half drive away from Vancouver, it’s relatively easy to get to. Plus, nothing beats the feeling of reaching the two small lakes nestled in the alpine setting of Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Lindeman Lake

 

This gorgeous spot is a must visit. The 3.4 KM intermediate hike takes about 2-hours to complete round trip. But you’re going to want to spend a lot of time here. The emerald-coloured waters of Lindeman Lake is a peaceful and refreshing way to end the day. Nestled in the Fraser Valley, this spot is just over 2-hours from Vancouver.

Whyte Lake

 

Escape to this quaint little lake after a leisurely 5 KM hike on the North Shore. Just a 30-minute drive from Vancouver, it’s an easy spot to check out for a day trip. The scenic trail leads you through Nelson Creek and is surrounded by lush Western Cedar and Douglas Fir trees.

Buntzen Lake

 

Just one-hour from Vancouver, this hiking spot in Port Moody is a popular choice. It’s easy to see why with its vast network of hiking trails to explore. Go on a 10 KM trek through the trails for a 3.5-hour adventure. The lake is the most ideal spot to go for a swim or lounge on your favourite floatie while taking in your surroundings.

Cabin Lake

 

A serene swimming spot at Cypress Mountain that you can enjoy after a 2.5 KM hike in. The swimming hole usually draws in big crowds in the summer time, but it’s worth it. Plus, it’s only a 30-minute drive away from Vancouver.
