Skip the potential dangers of cliff jumping and the tedious journey required to find a “secret rope swing.” Want to try hiking the Chief when it’s nearly 30 degrees out? Not a chance.

Lucky for you, BC’s waterparks have all the water-induced adrenaline that you could ever hope for.

Add in some hot tubs, lazy rivers, concession stands, and some bumping music, and you’ve got some a recipe for a memorable summer day.

If you’re looking to have an exciting time in the water, and that one slide at the local pool just isn’t doing it for you, gas up, grab some snacks, and check out some of BC’s best waterparks for your next adventure.

Bridal Falls Water Park

The waterpark that sits beside what was once glorious Dinotown (Rest In Peace, sweet childhood), Bridal Falls is still up and running on their wickedly fun hill. No climbing up slippery stairs necessary, just running briskly walking up the plastic walkways.

Where: 53790 Popkum Road South, Rosedale

Hours: Open daily June 29, from 10 am to 6 pm, weather permitting, call 1-888-883-8852 to confirm.

Admission: $25 per person all day to close, $16 per person for evening sliding starting at 3 pm, $12 per person for a Dry Day Pass (no hot tub or slide access however you may supervise small children in the kiddie slide area), and $5 per person at 5 pm for the last hour of sliding.

Cultus Lake Water Park

Ah, Cultus Lake Water Park. The dream field trip of every elementary school student ever is home of the Valley of Fear, the Tubular Terror, and the 72-foot-high Freefall. You’ll be shivering with excitement, fear, and maybe the cold, as they’re open rain or shine – but at least they have a hot tub to deal with that last one. This place gets super busy, so make sure to either come early or on a weekday.

Where: 4150 Columbia Valley Hwy, Cultus Lake

Hours: Open starting June 2 from 10 am to 6:30 pm until the end of summer, closing time extended to 7:30 pm between July 22 to August 20. July 21 and August 11 are night slide days, open from 8 pm to midnight.

Open rain or shine.

Admission: $30 if over 48″, $20 if under 48″, or seniors (60 years or older). Twilight hours (begins four hours before close): $21 if over 48″, $15 if under 48″, or seniors (60 years or older).

Big Splash Water Park

It’s back, and it’s splashier than ever! The sad “CLOSING” signs on the fondly remembered Splashdown Water Park are gone, and a newly revamped jungle of pipes and tubes have taken their place. New additions to the recently renovated roster of slides include Boomerango, an upsized “adults only” hot tub, and cabana rentals. At only 30 minutes away from Vancouver, it would be silly not to go.

Where: 4775 Nulelum Way, Tsawwassen

Hours: Open starting June 4 from 10 am to 2 pm, June 12 to 23 (Monday to Friday only), 10:30 am to 7 pm June 24 onwards (seven days a week).

All hours are weather permitting.

Admission: $28 All day pass, $17 twilight pass (4 pm to close), children three and under are free with paying adult.

Harrison Water Park

This one is not necessarily a “climb up some stairs and slide down some tubes” kind of water park, but we doubt anyone is complaining once they get there. With a huge assortment of inflatable obstacles to bounce around on—not to mention the beautifully refreshing lake they sit upon—this place is a great alternative if your butt has had it with those plastic slides.

Where: 100 Esplanade Avenue, Harrison Hot Springs

Hours: Open starting June 23 from 11 am to 6 pm, June 24 to September 3, seven days a week.

Admission: $34 per person, $24 per person twilight rate (4 to 6 pm).

Atlantis Water Slides

Atlantis Water Slides is the go-to place in the Okanagan for your adrenaline fix. Sitting just north of Vernon, it boasts six serious slides, a hot tub, seven VIP cabanas, and the beautiful, hot days that the interior is famous for.

Where: 7921 Greenhow Road, Vernon

Hours: Open 10 am to 6 pm until September 3.

Entrance: $26 for adults 13+, $17 for children aged four to 12, and free for those under four. During twilight hours (from 2:30 pm to close) it is $17 for adults, $11 for children.

Salmon Arm Water Slides and RV Park

This is the place to bring the whole family and perhaps a few cousins – if the RV is large enough. The Salmon Arm Water Slides are a landmark in the community and offer 46 RV sites complete with electricity and water hook-ups. Add in seven slides, two hot tubs, a concession, and an arcade, and you’ve got a waterpark that’s worth the making the stop.

Wibit Waterpark

Wibit brings a new definition to waterparks. With several different locations within British Columbia, the Wibit trades sky-high waterslides for a massive, bouncy, inflatable playground. Tired of climbing up the stairs for a 60-second slide? Try bouncing your way up several metres high on a trampoline, before crashing into a refreshing lake with a massive cannonball.
